“ The most hospitable coffee and tea room in Gasselternijveen! And the place where Baptistism began in the Netherlands, in 1911. At Baptistenkade 32, guests can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea, with or without a homemade treat baked with regional ingredients. Regional products include tea from Anloo (also available for individual sale), blueberries from the Van Loon family, eggs from the Van Erp family, bottled water from Anloo, currant loaf from Bakker Timmer, and flour from the mill as soon as it reopens. Jannie Dodde-Reiling has created a charming space in the front room, the stateroom, of the Reiling Hoeve. A homey spot full of atmosphere and nostalgia, where many old prints adorn the walls and the old box beds serve as convenient storage space. The Reiling family has lived here since 1775. First Baptist Roelof Jans Reiling was born here. Next to the farm once stood a shed where people would change after baptism (immersion). Services were also held there. In the garden, there's a cozy terrace where many cyclists and locals have enjoyed a cup of coffee, enjoying the peace and quiet. ”

“ Cycled with my daughter from the German border to Bovensmilde. She cycled from Sweden to her parents' house. First, I cycled past the farm and then back after a few meters. No regrets. Unique coffee/tea shop. Extensive coffee with homemade Groningen cake with butter and syrup. Delicious! Toilets available. Free explanation about the farm and surrounding area. You can also charge your e-bike, excellent service. But... there's so much more to do, so never cycle or walk any further, just relax on the terrace. (Should be mandatory) ;-)) ”
